General Entry Requirements
The general academic requirements for admission into Undergradute Degree Programmes are as follows:
1) A pass at the SPM level or equivalent with good grades,
2) A Credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at the SPM level or equivalent,
3) A pass in the IIUM Matriculation final examination with a CGPA of not less than 2.0 and fulfilment of all requirements for promotion to the first year of the Undergraduate Programme; OR
4) A Pass in the STPM examination with at least:-
Grade C (Subject Grade Point/"Nilai Gred Mata Pelajaran")(NGMP) of 2.00 in the General Paper; and
Grade C (Subject Grade Point/"Nilai Gred Mata Pelajaran")(NGMP) of 2.00 in two (2) others subject taken
A CGPA of 2.00;
5) A Pass in the STPM examination with at least Jayyid;OR
6) A Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualificatiion recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the Senate of the University.
7) Obtained at least Band 1 in the "Malaysian University English Test" (MUET).
Programme Duration
A Bachelor's Degree Programme normally takes four (4) academic years to complete. The minimum period is 4 years and the maximum period is 6 years. By registering for courses in short semesters, Students may be able to manage their workloads better to avoid too many courses in the normal semester. However, not all courses are offered during the short semester.
Immigration Services (For International Students)
The University will make the necessary arrangement with the Immigration Department to obtain the student's visa for successful applicants.
Transfer of Credits and Exemptions
Students, who have completed certain undergraduate course requirements from recognised institutions, may apply to have their credits transferred to the current programme at IIUM. This is on the condition that the courses taken earlier are equivalent to the corresponding courses of the programme at IIUM. The specific academic departments at IIUM will determine the equivalence of such courses. The maximum number of credit hours transferable from another institution is 50 percent of the total coursework required by the programme of study at IIUM. Students who wish to apply for credit transfers must do so at the time of submitting the application form. Relevant documents such as course outlines/syllabi and transcripts should be attached.
